About Us

Ribread was started and founded by me, Rileigh!

I graduated from East Carolina University in May of 2024 and soon after moved to Charlottesville VA. I moved here without much of a plan, but have found myself as the outreach manager opening a new Appalachian Running Company, and helping out part time at Thistlerock Meadery. Ribread is still my passion project, and I will continue to pursue it alongside my other ventures. 

In April of 2022 ribread co came to life. It started as a mini operation out of my sophomore year apartment bedroom, and eventually evolved into a slightly larger operation in my junior/senior year apartment's breakfast area. Now I am operating out of my home in Virginia. 

Ribread co. was inspired by my love for the environment, my hobby in crafting, and my love for unique fashion. Fast fashion is my worst enemy, and I wanted to create products that could reduce waste in the textile world. All of the designs I make are made from upcycled t-shirts. I am able to acquire these materials from local thrift stores. Any pieces of clothing they receive that they cannot sell, whether that is due to rips or stains, is donated to me to give a new life to. 

It began with short words and phrases on sweatshirts, and has evolved into little doodle designs, custom pieces, upcycled graphics, and dog accessories! There is no telling where ribread co. will go next, but I have enjoyed every step of the way.
